Yeah, kink would be a better word. I can't really see whats under the engine in my boat. It takes a long piece of rebar wires passed from the outside to drag the line out the transom plug hole.

Ah. Mine is attached with a short cable to the drain plug on the transom. So you just remove the plug and pull on it to get the hose out through the transom hole.

yeah my plug has a leash attached to it. It is a braided fishing leader pretty much with swivel/snap.

I just remove the oil filter, attach my specially made 6 quart 6 pack cooler with a oil filter coupler glued on, start it up until all the oil pressure warning stuff goes off or engine starts knockin whichever comes first. Put in new oil filter, fill up with really heavy grade oil to make up for the bearing wear and I'm good to go.
