Maybe we can shift to a RON vs. AKI discussion.I read this whole thing hoping for a good oil thread battle. I am thoroughly disappointed.

If we're the only one using it, we can call it whatever TF we want.Same, but what throws me off is those gallons that aren't a gallon. If ya (yanks) are gunna use a different volume, at least give it a different name!
Unless that water separated and was sitting at the bottom...If there were an extra 2 qts or 2 liters of water in the oil it would no longer look like oil. If it looks like dirty oil, you’re fine. If it looks like milky goop, you have water in the oil.
The Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) was built right here on Long Island 1962-1972 by Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage Long Island. The first spacecraft Grumman ever built and the only part of the Apollo Program to never experience a major failure. In fact one served as a lifeboat for the crew of Apollo 13 after an explosion on the service module. I knew people who worked on it. Amazing talent!Check out the History of the Moon Program, a lot of the Measurements used in Apollo were metric
I did warm up the engine before draining the oil. All of the 6 and a 1/2 liters that were removed were all dark oil. I will be going back to the boat this weekend and will check the level of the oil and report. Thank you for all of the input. The oil topics were all good thought.True, if it has sat, but most people warm the oil up before draining it, so it would be well mixed
I bet if who ever did changes before never checked the dipstick and added the published amount. I cant get the last 1/2 qt or so out so basically over filling it. Also seen both 4.5 qt and 5.5 qt listed for a 5.0, probably someone just not paying attentionI did warm up the engine before draining the oil.
