Re: Oil buzzer

Which wire? Has tha water in fuel sensor been checked and/or disconnected?

Re: Oil buzzer

The wire that I have disconnected is the tan/blue wire coming from the alarm buzzer on top the motor.

Re: Oil buzzer

OK so sensor/module is good(brand new).
#1 Go back to cap and unplug both cap wires and test for continuity, without removing cap.If continuity exists then cap sensor is faulty.
#2 Go to coil connections at switch box and remove green wire from module and put on different coil/cyl connection to eliminate bad coil or voltage output which will sound the alarm.Start engine to see if beep stops.....or you can just DVA test the coil its connected to for correct voltage output.

Re: Oil buzzer

Is tha tan/blue coming from tha module going to tha term block with tha tan/blue comin' from tha overheat sensor on tha starboard side tha one your talkin' about? If it is then its something on tha oiler side and/or tha water in fuel sensor for sure. Those two wires are tha signal wires to a single tan/blue wire (in tha harness) that goes to tha "buzzer" up at tha dash and/or control box. Tha one comin' from tha module will give tha oscillateing signal and tha one comin' from overheat gives tha solid signal. Does it give tha beep, beep, beep, beep with just tha key on or does tha motor need ta be runnin' ta get tha alarm?

Oh yeah. Try tha water in fuel sensor............

I would have thought tha "mechanic" that found tha bad pump would have checked all that!

Re: Oil buzzer

Yeah I wish he would have. But I called the original owner and asked him who did his work on this motor and aim going to have him look at it. So far I have had the water pump replaced. The lower unit oil changed. The compression checked. The alarm buzzer replaced. Now I want the mechanic to check out the alarm module and any thing else he can see that might be a problem that he can eliminate. I want it running top notch I plan on bringing my grandsons and don't want to get stranded because I didn't do some preventive maintenance. Thanks for everyone's help I will let y'all know how everything turns out this week. Robintx2

Re: Oil buzzer

Update on oil buzzer problem. I had a mechanic come out and look at it. He went through all the wiring and end result after a few hours is it is the charging system. All the wiring and sensors are good the alarm buzzer is good. The charging system is not working and the voltage output is causing the alarm. He will back tomorrow to check it out. I will keep posting until I get a final answer or when it is fixed and what the exact problem is. Thanks Robintx2
