Oil and water don't mix too good.

I'm getting what looks like a mixture of gear oil and water from behind the prop on my 92 Evinrude 15 horse. Think it might be the seal right behind the prop???????Or are there others that can cause the same problem? Can't wait for my manual.

Bear,<br /><br />If it's coming from there, your suspicions are probably correct.<br /><br />First, remove the prop and see if there is any fishing line wrapped up in there.

How did you know??????????????It was loaded with fishing string. Not in the seal, but around the prop.
