Re: Oil and lubing questions?
If you can find a serial number on the engine, there are websites that can guide you to the year.

You should get rid of all the old fuel and start with fresh gasoline mixed at a ratio of 50:1 with tcw3 2 stroke oil.

I would also drain and replace the lower unit lube and replace the fill and vent gaskets (washers) with new ones made for that engine - the proper gasket/washers does really make a difference in preventing water intrusion. If you don't know how to do this, there's lots of threads on that subject if you do a search. Or get an owner's or shop manual and it should tell you how to do it. Then, assuming it runs, after an hour or so of running, I'd drain it again and see if there is water intrusion. If so, that would be an issue to work on, although you can run it as long as you replace the contaminated oil frequently and don't let it freeze with moisture in the lower unit.

If it starts, you want to make sure the "telltale" is streaming at all rpms indicating a working water pump. The water pump impeller is something you might want to replace on a preventative maintenance basis if you have any suspicion it's old. You'd definitely want to do water pump service if you think the water stream out of the tell tale is weak or sporadic.

If it idles and runs fine, you're probably good to go. If not, you'd probably have to get into troubleshooting fuel system, carb., spark and compression just to see where you stand. If that's the case, there's many experts on this forum who can guide you (I'm not one of them!).
