Are they installing new cylinder and piston liner kits? I would hope so, how about the valve guides.
I have always sent the injection pump and injectors out for testing and repair when doing an overhaul. Bad injectors is what usually takes out the rings to begin with.

Agreed. I don't know if that engine is "parent bore" or not. That's why I made the "cavitation" comment.
