Avoid adjustment of the timing on this motor. They rarely if ever jump time, and as long as nobody messes with it, it will be set.
Do you get full RPM? Lots of revs, but no go? If so, remove the prop, and rehub it.

Are you sure it is an ignition problem? This motor simply will not idle if you are down one cylinder for any reason. So if it runs in idle, move to the fuel delivery.
Check the compression,from tank-to-carb.

The fuel pump on this motor is cheap and easy to rebuild.

Check for air leak in the fuel line.
Make sure tank vent is open while operating.
check the screen on the bottom of the tank pickup tube (or try another tank).

And make sure the throttle butterfly in the carb opens fully at full throttle.

The flywheel is keyed, so you should be ok. Check the timing in idle. As long as the linkage has not been changed, it will track-up just fine.
If it has, you will need a pilot at the helm and a trip to the river.

Does it idle?

Have you checked the TRIGGER? It could have a loose or bad wire. The trigger is the round part located below the stator and flywheel. The factory original trigger will be made of metal.Wiggle the wires around a little @ W.O.T. and see if it picks up any.You can also check the voltage to and from it, to be sure. P.S. aftermarket trigger made of plastic. If you have a bad trigger wire it will loose a cyl. under a load.
