Oem starter for 3.0 mercruiser 1989

Anybody know what the oem starter is for 1989 3.0 mercruiser engine serial oc622944 also what direction does the crankshaft turn want to look at the flywheel plan on spinning it from the front with the alt pulley
having issues with starters just clicking

according to the crowley web site the starter is OEM number 8M0090697

As far as I know all modern sterndrives turn CW. Older counter revolution motors actually turned CCW.

A starter clicking i indicative of low voltage, stuck or defective starter solenoid or slave solenoid. Jumper the starter from the battery directly and see what happens.

Rotation is always determined by standing behind the engine and looking forward. Standard automotive and marine stern drive engines turn CCW.
