A liberal never met a tax he didn't like. But, he'll work like hell to to see to it that anybody but him has to pay it.<br /><br />So what if the family farm has to be sold off because they can't afford the estate taxes. Farmer's should be exempt if they intend to keep farming, but not if they are going to sell out to real estate developers, then they should pay as well, IMO.....JK

I didn't say they couldn't sell it, only that they would have to pay estate tax if they did...<br />As far as the #'s.... So what? The repubs. dismissed it when they were down, the Dems. will dismiss it when they are up....<br />Wasn't there a thread where it was decided that the polls were pretty much worthless or could be manipulated?.....JK

So, what your saying is if my wife, lowly little Mrs. EEBOATER, who is in no means a millionaire, inherits her uncles farmland. Has no plans on becoming a farmer, has to first come up with the money to pay for the taxes on this estate.<br /><br />Then, when we sell the land, we need to pay taxes on it again?<br /><br />If its ok for a millionaire to have to pay a death tax, how about someone worth $995,000? Where's the line?
