Re: oddjobs troll-Kurds say Thanks
oddjob
then you should know why what we are doing wont work, did not work with the indian problem in the 1800, did not work well for the brits in various colonies. has not worked with our policies in the past 20 years. I cant offer a solution all I can do is vote and hope that the elected official useses common sense, good judgement, and proper planning. seems not many presidents have done that in the past few decades.
how can we stand around and condem China about human rights and north korea about a video showing a public execution when we are napalming cities, ok MK-77'ing cities, and uses a WMD like wille P and holding people for 2 to 3 years with no formal charges or trails? not only holding them against every law we as americans stand for but torturing them to death on occasion. is it ok cause we be mericans? ok cause we can? or ok cause everybody else did it?
seems we did so much better when we attempted to show the world a better place rather than beat them with a stick. the stick method has not worked in recorded history and odds are it wont work now. sometimes as a democratic super power ya have to take a bloody nose, we took one, instead of looking about at who bloodied it and why our elected leaders took what they thought was an easy road to a revenge to assauge public sentiment.
oddjob I consider americans glass over half full. but it should be full. its getting drained.

tillam
so far you have shown a steadfast refusal to even admit the reasons for saddam gassing the kurds. almost every time I do try to explain any history and why your one of the ones that sy its ok as long as the US did it. most the posters I respond to tend to think of the average Iraqi all 26 some odd million of them, as subhuman terrorists.
yet in all my asking no one has yet enlightened me as to exactly when the Iraqi terror cells started and what do they look like? seems all the govt intel now says terroism in iraq or iraqi sponsored was a figment unto 03. thats about what we saw through the mid ninties when I was active duty.
most of the middle east problems started in the 20's and later in the 40's with the latter being the artifical creation of the state of isreal. have ya ever seen the old war correspondent 8mm's of palestinians being forcibly pulled away from there breakfast tables and tossed on the streets, ever seen the razing of palestinian farms fow a new jew settlement when the farm had been in the family over a century and told its not yours england just gave it to us. it tended to create hard feelings. just like our border wars with canada and the mexicans over a bit of territory thats what happened in Iran and Kuwait. was it right? nope was it understandable? yep.
do I have the solutions? nope.
but this case the force was incorrectly applied.
we should have cut the head off the terror snake. but to many western govts, ours included are to dependant on the snake to kill it so it will be more of the same for some years to come. I ment no insult nor do I deem you stupid, quite the contrary. I just think your a bit misinformed on history, my mistake.

oddjob
maybe you have an honerable exit plan that you could share ? or do you think we can sustain 2 to 3 billion dollars in that area alone every week or so for a couple years ?
