Keep in mind that the V6 mercs and inline 6 mercs are about as similar as a 454 and an inline. The thing about inlines is that they are very unique and PICKY motors, what often applies to outboards in general does not apply to them.

I never meant to infer that he should use 87 in an inline, by all means use at least a midgrade. I myself would likely use 91.
