QC,

Yes, there is some crap out there, looking at the one you linked, looks like you will be happy with it, does not look like a bad setup.

I use OBD Auto Doctor and a cheap ELM-327 wi-fi that works great. I also have the cheaper bluetooth unit. WiFi range is limited to about 30 feet.

Re: OBD2 Scanners, WiFi? Hardwire?

I just ordered this one: ScanTool.net LLC - OBDLink MX Scan Tool | OBD Interface | App Accelerator - ScanTool.net

Feels like the best combo for me. A little more than I wanted to spend but it is upgradable/expandable. Limited to Bluetooth Android and PC. But that works for me. Bruce warned me that it was not setup for iPhone/iPad, and he was right. Thanks!! The WiFi unit comes out later that addresses that, but I do have an Android Tablet that will work well for the car. The hardwire version was half the money, but was limited and it has, uhhh, wires....

Thanks for the help and suggestions. I'll let you know. Looks like fun.

I originally bought a Scanguage II from Autozone (about $150) because I wanted a device that would stand-alone, stay in the truck and I could taylor the gages.

I do like the one you got because you could use your phone as the display device. Can you use vehicle specific PIDs to add gages? or are you limited to what is default?

Haven't got there yet ^^^^^ I have used it, display is awesome (cheap android tablet). Codes are easy to clear, and the gauge readouts are good. There is something there for changing out the gauges, but I haven't figured it out. When I tried I got two speedos. Don't really need that no matter how fast I go!

Can you plot O2 sensor data?

Yes ^^^^ I haven't figured out the logs yet, but the O2 sensors are displayed in real time, so I am sure they can be logged.

What is kinda nice to do is to have a moving graph with all 4 O2 sensors up and see how they react to each other at different RPMs. Helps identify one that may be degrading.
