The UK hires Algore to advise them on global warming. What a hoot. Maybe he'll have better luck getting the Brits out of their cars than he did his own countrymen.

It's sad to see my British cousins, who for so long had stiff backbones, turning to mush before our very eyes. At this rate, we won't be able to tell the difference between them and the French.

I saw on the news today that Atheists get to choose 2 days off work out of 8, Christians get 3 days off and muslims get 26 days off of work in the UK per year. This is because the government doesn't want to create waves with them.
Any in the UK, correct me if I am wrong.

After hearing this, I can totally understand them hiring gore for global warming!

You don't understand Boom. To many Brits and Europeans Al Gore is the only American who gets it . . . :'(

Doesn't seem to be the Great Britain that we have all come to admire over the centuries.

Who would you choose to be an advisor on global warming?

Why AlGore of course i386. He just rides around in his Chevy Suburbans and tells everyone how they are killing the environment.

Re: Now if this just doesn't take the cake!

Tim Patterson [16], paleoclimatologist and Professor of Geology at Carleton University in Canada: "There is no meaningful correlation between CO2 levels and Earth's temperature over this [geologic] time frame. In fact, when CO2 levels were over ten times higher than they are now, about 450 million years ago, the planet was in the depths of the absolute coldest period in the last half billion years. On the basis of this evidence, how could anyone still believe that the recent relatively small increase in CO2 levels would be the major cause of the past century's modest warming?"

Marcel Leroux, former Professor of Climatology, Université Jean Moulin: "The possible causes, then, of climate change are: well-established orbital parameters on the palaeoclimatic scale, ... solar activity, ...; volcanism ...; and far at the rear, the greenhouse effect, and in particular that caused by water vapor, the extent of its influence being unknown. These factors are working together all the time, and it seems difficult to unravel the relative importance of their respective influences upon climatic evolution. Equally, it is tendentious to highlight the anthropic factor, which is, clearly, the least credible among all those previously mentioned."

So what's next for Algore? First he invented the internet, then he's a climate expert, maybe next he'll invent a way to move the Earth?

So it was, my first reply was joke.

How about a scientist?

List

Screw Al Gore when it comes to science. I'm not defending him. Politicians and pundits on both sides (there are only 2 sides to everything right? )have made a joke out of this issue.

From your link...

"This page lists scientists who have expressed doubt regarding the scientific opinion on global warming. The consensus has been summarized by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as follows:

1. The global average surface temperature has risen 0.6 ± 0.2°C since the late 19th century, and 0.17°C per decade in the last 30 years.
2. "Most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities", in particular emissions of the greenhouse gases carbon dioxide and methane.
3. If greenhouse gas emissions continue, the warming will continue and indeed accelerate, with temperatures increasing by 1.4°C to 5.8°C between 1990 and 2100, causing sea level rise and increasing extreme weather events like hurricanes. On balance, the impacts of global warming will be significantly negative.

These main points are held by the majority of climate scientists and those doing research in closely related fields; however, there are also a small number of scientists who actively disagree. This page is intended to highlight those scientists who have, since the 2001 IPCC Third Assessment Report, published research or made public comments openly opposing at least one of the conclusions listed above.

Only scientists with a record of scholarship are included, and they must have been making specific statements, not merely participating in a poll or survey of opinion. This list is intended to be comprehensive, but is likely to be incomplete."

If I read this correctly, the majority of the scientific community believes this stuff is real.

How we got to a point where being concerned about screwing up the place we live in (for ourselves and our children) lumps us in the same category as:

No shaving/no deodorant wearing tree hugging dope smokers, Anti-Americans, Socialists, Communists, Abortionists, etc...

is beyond me.

Boom likening me to a Frenchman is tantermount to a declaration of war.

Eric, you asked for correction if you were wrong and yes you are wrong, everybody gets the same number of days holiday over here, it's laid down in our employment laws.

The British government are making a big thing of global warming at the moment, the reason; they are looking to increase the tax on fuel/large cars.

And a joke it is... to think that something as small and insignificant as the human species can affect the climate of this planet is absurd, not to mention hubris on a grand scale.

This is a political issue, studies being done for bucks from the instigators of the premise, not science.... payed for studies, payed for research.

If you were getting bucks for a project with a desired outcome (funded) and with more bucks down the road (funded) if the results were as desired, what would be your results?

Throw another log on the fire, you're probably helping stave off the next Ice Age.

Been there, done that RPJS. For the sake of close family ties, we shouldn't go there again.;)

Ya,ll keep missin the point. I feel like Winston Churchill crying to the wind. Other than the deluded rank and file Democrat (this includes many of the so called Progressive, not-so critical thinkers like PW and rolmops et al) the Left Elite does not believe in this man made global warming crap.

NOW HEAR THIS! It is one more vehicle to try to ruin the Western worlds' independence and power. If they can diminish our wealth, by getting us out of our cars and ruining our industrial capacity they will have us by the shorthairs. Like Stalin, they do not give a whit for National power, They want their one world utopia where they are in complete control.

Trying to debate this issue to a solution is like trying to parley with the radical muslims. You aint gonna win cause the only outcome they want is for us to be brought to our knees.

You asked Who else? I gave you options. If you don't like them, tuff for you. At least I answered your question. And that iis more than most of you left wingers ever do. Try it sometime.

Thank you for correcting me Richard.

Nuclear winter?... probably more than you will ever know or care to research.... more scare tactics and hubris for political ends. Do the math.

Go label someone else. I don't think you've figured me out yet.

Doesn't matter if i "like" them or not. The source you provided even said those scientists views were in the minority. That's my point, one of them anyway. The rebuttal to your argument was contained in your sources.
