Not Charging

I have a 1988 Evinrude 4 cyl Outboard. It starts OK and runs. Battery is not recharging. How do I get to the Alternator, Under Fly wheel. No Manual.<br /><br />Big Al :

Does it have a tach? Is it working? Might not be the alternator, it could be the rectifier. Ya really need a manual.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
