You aren't gonna get a glass motorboat under 1500 lbs total unless it's a tiny 2 person boat... Heck a newer 3 person jetski isn't far from that weight.

So you're towing with a '68 impala???

Too cool.....

Thinking tho.... With working trailer brakes I would think you could safely tow quite a bit more than 1500 lbs with that car, assuming the installed hitch is up to it....

A set of air shocks on the back would help with tongue weight.

No way. We're selling the 68 impala. :) Towing with a Honda CRV, which tow capacity is 1500.

Ugh. Went to look at the Lund and loved it BUT.... that trailer was a MONSTER. Weighed 1200 lbs! Like, really, heavier than the boat and motor together. I'm going to cry now. ; (

Do you have a 2nd car that you could throw a hitch on,1500 lb max on the crv limits you to a stripped out aluminum boat with 3 bench seats.

Just out of curiosity where did you find the trailer weight?

Thinking it is the "another red Lund"

No way that trailer weighs 1200. I'd take the whole package to a scale to check.

If you read the VIN tag on the trailer and it read GVW: 1200lbs; that's the rated capacity of the trailer's suspension and axle, not the weight of the trailer.

Unless its made of steel solid square stock, I agree the trailer isn't likely to be 1200lbs.

I've hauled derelict 19ft fiberglass boats that came w/ fairly substantial trailers and those trailers didn't even weigh 650lbs.

It was the blue one we looked at. We took it to certified scales. Trailer, motor and boat total 2300 lbs. The boat is 755 dry, motor max maybe 280, 4 gallons of fuel.... process of elimination. Also just researching these Shorelander trailers shows that they can weigh from 700 to 1200lbs.

And no other car tow with at the moment. We are able to pull these boats so long as the trailer isn't a beast. Lol

how far are you towing and on what roads? If only a few miles on a 35 mph road it would work. No way on a 30 mile trip on a four lane....

And I'll flip you my little boat for that impala? :D:D

Without the exact trailer model it is hard to check but similar trailer is under 600lbs.

I would suspect the foam is water logged in the boat before I would believe the trailer weighs 1200lbs.

If the trailer does actually weigh that much it is way more trailer than is needed. It would have a very high weight capacity. Buy it and find a different trailer that fits the boat and weighs much less. Sell that trailer to someone with a FG boat.

The trailer isn't the problem... The problem is you are looking at too big of boats.

Try 16' open hull, no padded seats, no windshield, 15-25 hp tiller steer motor.
