Noob question on oil

I recently picked up a '79 mark Twain bow rider with a '77 Merc 1150 (Tower of Power) outboard. My question is ... I want to replace the oil in the lower unit ... I've read 90wt, I've read 30wt ... and also how much .... thanks

Rod, Any marine gear lube for mechanical shift motors is fine. The gearcase will take 25.4oz, so buy a qt, at least.
