Hey,
I have a Volvo Penta SX-CT1 outdrive. The thrust plate on the port side came off. Can the new plates be installed by removing the lower leg...or is there more to it??
If the part was a week away and the sun was out...would you use your boat??

Yes, removing the drive is all that is necessary.
You do understand those need to be shimmed equally from side to side don't you.

I wouldn't run it without them if it was mine.

Thanks for the help Don!
What could happen if a person was to run it with out the plate?
