noise when turning left and right

i just rebuilt my alpha one drive and put it on it works fine ,but when i turn to the left or right i get a knocking vibration from the drive i know that it is probably the u joints ,but could engine alignment be a factor ?

Maybe.... but did you check the alignment when you reinstalled the drive?

no i diddnt but the shaft slid right in

It's time to pull the outdrive and check the alignment with the proper tool.

Check the gimbal bearing - it is free, with no scratchy noises or feel?

Check your u joints... are they sloppy, etc?

Noises when turning is 99% ujoints. And you may not be able to feel the bad one. But will see it when you take them apart.

ya it was the u joints the c clip somhow came off and the bearing cap blew a hole in the bellow found the c clip but bearing cap must of gone out the hole one more question how does the shift control arm on the bell housing end of the cable come off and back on ??
