My wife (35 years) usually waits till my hairbrained idea fails and laughs. Then comes commentary. "Did it hurt? Betcha won't do that again? Did you learn something?" And laughs some more. Figure I keep her entertained...

I am quite possibly walking into the very same situation. We had planned to build but decided that wasn’t feasible. Now under contract to buy a house on a village lot a quarter mile from our 9 acre build sight. I still hope to build my shop out there… possibly a hangar for the Cub.

They can be setup weedless, or in a texas rig.

My nephew says they work pretty well in Tennessee where he lives as well.

Local sporting goods stores, including bass pro, don't stock this color, I got them on amazon.

I will say the Garmin Force trolling motor I paid a lot of money for has been giving me issues. On Monday If I had a quick release set up on it you could bet your bottom dollar it would have been on the bottom of the lake.

Great day fishing today.

Went out again this morning. There was a cool four mph breeze on the water until about 0930 or so. 94 degrees at the dock when we started, 116 when I got in the truck at about noon, to load the boat. Thank God for good ac in the truck.

I caught 11 smallies. My buddy caught 10 smallest and a nice bluegill. I caught the smallest again, but I caught the 5 biggest too. 4 of those were maybe a pound or so. Kept the biggest one. A bit over 3 lbs.


Half were caught on the green pumpkin Yamamotos. The other half were caught on the cinnamon with black flake Yamamoto super grubs. They seemed to work better in mixed sun and shade. Dark purplish grey in color.


Last trip out we mostly stayed in the shade. Warm wind instead of cool made the sun brutal that day.

Bluefin are my favorite fish to eat.

Not bad frozen if you vacuum and heat seal.

Took a shoulder and a bowl of wasabi to our fishing meeting last month. Quick way to get rid of #5 or so of fresh

So true. I do vacuum seal and it does make a big difference but I still prefer fresh over frozen with just about everything.

My buddy caught this fat cat last night on one of those sea urchin lures. Didn't get a picture of the lure, but will have some for next trip.

Rescued a family after dark on the way back at about 10pm. He was on a blow up paddle board. Wife and 2 kids in a blow up canoe. It was high tide from hoover dam, and they'd drifted almost 3 miles down from willow Bay. Wore out and couldn't paddle any more. Towed them back upriver to willow. Not a lot of shore to get out on. Glad we could save them.
