Yeah I like the crispy skin ....just never thought of givin the tail a sizzle....but I will , just that I usually chop the tail off to fit it in the pan ( flounder is probly the only fish I cook whole ...mostly fillet everything else )The tail, when fried crisp, is good ... but it has to have a nice "crunch" to it. Soggy tail isn't good.
Saltwater fishing is my preferred then again I don't keep what I catch so it doesn't matter what I catch. I look at the weather, wind and tide and kayak fish near shore, biggest decision is shrimp or minnows.Never done any freshwater fishing but those look like nice fish. Glad you found some time to get out and relax for bit. Sounds like you needed it.
It must have been hungry.
Sometimes people will come here and buy a live lobster at the fish market just so they can toss it back in the water and save its life.
Every once in a while when they do this a giant striped bass will come out from under the dock and hammer it.![]()

What is it ? Obviously some sort of crocodilia, just thinking how it would go on the barbieMy wife and I headed over to the fishin' hole this evening. We haven't been fishing since March. We were definitely overdue.
I hooked 10 bass and landed six. I got the first fish on the first cast, which can mean bad luck, but not today. My wife catches bluegill to use as bass bait. She caught at least a dozen, but no bass.

This little 6 footer was a real problem. It would immediately head over to wherever a bait or lure was splashed. I ended up not using a Plopper or other topwater bait because of mister nosy.
