Blunt and plain speaking. That's what this country needs more of. Here is a recent quote he made regarding the Iranian nuclear issue:

“The longer we wait to confront the threat Iran poses, the harder and more intractable it will become to solve. The Iran regime must be made aware that if it continues down the path of international isolation, there will be tangible and painful consequences,” he told 4,500 delegates to the annual convention of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee, the leading pro-Israel U.S. lobbying group.

The Libs like to dance around the subject a whole lot then say or do nothing concrete.

In a way he kind of resembles good old TR! :D

Yes we know pointer, he is just innocently presenting the other side of the arguement so that all of those wise Jr Highschoolers can make up their own minds. We've already been admonished about that.

Just which libs are you talking about, Boom?

Seems like the situation in Iran is escalating out of control without any help from the libs. Tough talk is fine, if it achieves any worthwhile ends. Tough talk, if it only feeds gas to the fire, is not particularly helpful.

Haut,

It continually amazes me why the righties incessasantly feel they need to tell us how wonderful they are.

I suppose it is because after being in control for so many years, there is an amazing lack of evidence to "show" us how wonderful they are.

Note, more liberal wisdom here. How long have conservatives been in power compared to the unabated 50 year march of liberalism???

PW, we are simply preaching to the great unwashed moderates whom you have successfully convinced that taking a strong stand, on any issue, is homo something or other and totally lacking in kind compassionate critical thinking skills. :p

Yep,

Everything is screwed up currently, and it is someone/ anyone else's fault!

That's the old conservative "take responsibility for your own actions" spirit I admire so much!!!

You right Booomya the democrats were in power for forty years and it took the Bush and the neocons chicken hawks what six years to put the country’s economy in the tank?

About your comment on Bolton I happen to agree that he is the right person in the right place at the right time and that is coming from someone that voted for the gipper twice. But with this bunch of clowns running the country I guess that makes me a lib.

Treedancer,

I agree that this administration has left me mystified on a variety of issues, sometimes for the for the least of reasons. There are some issues regarding communication that are confusing and unwarranted. There seems to be policies inconsistant with the conservative platform. This hurts their credibility and their message.

Who exactly voted for the war? Seems to be some chicken hawks all over washington, even in places like NYC and CA. Democrat chickenhawks.

What measure are you using for a "tanking economy". Unemployment? Interest Rates? CPI? New home starts? GNP? The stock market? Sales of durable goods?

Seems like the situation in Iran is escalating out of control without any help from the libs.
Exactly, no help and underminding the mission at every opportunity. That hurts the effort.

I sleep secure at night knowing that Hillary, Paul Begala, James Carville, et al will right the ship of state when Hillary ascends the throne in 2008.

Yeah, and the bass shall biteth mo' betta and the trout shall come forth from the depths, and....

Pointer here is what has me concerned there is not a whole lot of spin that can be put on numbers.

1. 371 billion dollar deficit

2.Federal deficit under current administration, projected through 2011:$2.3 trillion

3.The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $2.17 billion per day since September 30, 2005

4. And last but no least is Federal surplus at end of fiscal 2000 $5.6 trillion

Pork Pork Pork, this is not a conservative view and not a veto in site.

Do we have a southern boarder? Not a shortage of people calling attention to it.

Not sure but something about the ports deal gives me pause.

Harriet Myers?????

His managing of the media has been poor. It negatively affects the party. Not that the media was even entitled to the Cheney shooting thing, but you have to be smarter than that. If handled properly it could have been a real positive for the administration for all but the most rabid Bush haters.

The policy of changing the laws concerning overtime pay was a slap in the face of many Americans. Hated that decision. Wife and I are both salary.

Overall growth of government.

There may be others but those stick in my mind. There were things Reagan did I didn't like. I like him TONS better than either Gore or Kerry. If you want to be a conservative - act like one.

Two of my favorite things about Bush: Roberts and Alito. :) And Bolton is clearly just what the UN needs. Hey John, give em an enima.
