no spark

I have a 35HP Lark IV, serial number unknown. I suspect the motor is from the 50's or 60's. I have no spark at either cylinder. I am not too familiar with the workings of an outboard engine.<br />Is what I need to focus my repairs on located under the flywheel?

most likely. look on the transom bracket and see if the manufactures plate is still attached, that will have the model and serial number stamped into it. Once you have the model number then we can work out the year and be able to give you better advice. It will also be worth your while to find a manual for the motor, but first, find that model number.<br />good luck!
