no spark

I have no spark on coil wire or anything i have a mercruiser 3.0 engine. the boat is a 1991. all the boat does is turn over but no spark anywhere. i need help please.

What ignition system do you have? Do you have power to the +terminal on the coil with the ignition switch on? and if so, how much?

im not sure what you mean by what type of ignition. i have 10-12 volts on + side and negative side. even when i hit the key

It it a points type ignition, EST electronic, or the DDIS system?

On the motor i have no spark from coil to dist cap, or at plug wires or at points. What could be my problem?

Turn the ignition switch to the run position. Check the + terminal on the coil with a volt meter. Do you have battery voltage or close to it?

I have put in new plugs and battery. I have a condensor, points, cap and rotor ordered will be here monday. thank you

After putting in tune up kit the boat started thank you. now when on water when im sitting still or slow moveing the temp gauge moves up when going across lake it goes back down. could my impellar be weak?

not sure about when last changed i just bought boat about 3 weeks ago. When it gets warm it gets hard to start. is that common?

Instead of speculating what might cause what, why don't you fix your overheat problem, do a full tuneup (that should be an annual event just to get the best fuel mileage) and see how things work out.
Guessing is usually about 99% wrong anyway.

ive replace plugs, wires, points, rotor button, condensor, now the alternator cause old one was bad, and tried to put in a new impeller but the store gave me wrong one we took it apart and brother in law says it wasnt bad? do you know if it has 2 impellers or one what else could make it get hot?
