no spark tried hotwire now no start

ok 1969 55 hp evinrude before turned over good then searched post and found to unplug wireing harness jumped across the starter siolnoid to the s terminal now will not turn over with harness connected what did i mess up do i need a neew starter silonoid or ?

Hi mocha<br />Here is my best advice on this model. Run down to a marine store and buy a manual that covers this model. They cost about $35. This is a cheep price considering you could do 10 times that in damage to your electrical system before you even have a clue. Any marine store will do, West marine comes to mind, if you need a name.
