I have a 70 hp johnson. It runs great for 10-15 mins. Then there is no spark on no. 2 cyl. Switched plugs, wires, & coil. Still no fire on no. 2 cyl. any info. !!!!
Model no. J70plssd , 2000 yr. model.

P.S. Is there a shut down mode on this engine, like hot or low oil, etc.
thanks

If you switched coils I'd say you have pack or timer base probs. Best way to check out is with DVA and OEM service manual. Even a cave man could do it. LOL.

As long as your guessing at this, try a new timer base. Have you got spark on all three cyls when cranking, meaning jumping a 7/6" open air gap?? Did you ever get a OEM service manual or any test equipment??
