Hello Everyone
I have a 1993 25 hp Mariner Outboard, electric start remote controlled. serial # 0D182270 It had some mice get into it last year and chewed a bunch of wires causing it was shorting to ground. So I replaced the plugs, spark plug wires and ignition coils, and it ran fine for a couple weeks last year and then I lost high speed idle but would still run low speed. Fast forward to last week pulled the boat out to get it ready and it doesn't start at all no spark. So I try the buckshot solution and I buy a new rectifier, trigger, stator and new stator alternator and CDI switch box. I've tested with a inline spark tester, and no spark on both cylinders. Inline tester works on the lawn mower and it works. I tested the resistance of the old stator an its low (2900ohms) New one is 3600 between the black/yellow and black white. Spec from what I can find is 3100-3700. I tested the triggers, both the old and new triggers are 700 ohms between the brown wires, spec is 650-850. I disconnected the black/yellow wire that looks to go to the controls / shifter hoping to remove the kill switch and still no spark.
Looking for some help on what to do next. I've called some of the local marinas to see if I can have someone look at it and everyone has turned me down or told me June they can look at it. I have a fishing vacation in a couple of weeks that is in jeopardy, please help.

Unplug the black/yellow stripe wire from the CDI and see if spark comes back. You will have to kill it with the choke if it starts. Put up a pic of the front of the motor.

Hello, thanks for your input, we had a sickness wiped out everyone in the house so this project has been on hold. I've disconnected the black yellow that runs to the kill switch and still no spark.
I bought a VDA adaptor for my fluke to help isolate the problem. I just checked the voltage between the black yellow and engine ground and it was 2V. I disconnected the stator and checked and the voltage jumped up to 200V. So the non OEM CDI off ebay must be bad then right?
