I am reparing the motor. Bought it on a garage sale. Motor has been sitting 6 yrs ! Compression 125 on both cold, but no spark on both plugs. Looks like brand new under hood, gear is damaged.<br /><br />Disconnected kill wire in connector and pulled starter rope, but still no spark. <br /><br />Afterwards i got a tremendos electric shock from the killwire terminal. Not crancking !<br />There must be capasitors in Powerpack.<br /><br />Stator must produce power then. Is the powerpack damaged - suppose both coils cant be bad.<br /><br />How do I test power pack, or du you have any ideas what to do.

CD unit is not discharging, so I would suspect the trigger has a problem (a bug or something under the flywheel?).<br />But it's building the spark, just not administering it. Switchbox, trigger, or sheared flywheel key. And if the l/u gear is damaged,it might have sheared the key when they hit what they hit.

Almost sounds like the sensor coil is bad. Disconnect the 4 prong connecter from the power pack to the armeture plate. With your meter set on low ohms scale, between "B" and "C" of the female portion of the connecter you should read 40 +_ 10 ohms. If not, the sensor coil is bad.
