1980 Mercruiser 228 Chevy 305 this has been sitting a while i just bought it
i want to get it running and checked out then get an electronic kit or distributer
Cleaned the points and have some dwell 20 Deg
my current problem is that i only have 3.5 volts going to the coil?
thought it might be the shift kill switch and tried different positions on the
shift/throttle lever no change.
i am almost sure that it had 12v when i picked it up
previous owner said that he had some trouble with the coil feeling hot he replaced
the coil and tried a ballast resister which is not connected now
he also said that he had to replace the points every year
Any help will be greatly apreciated
