no power

Heres what I have, 1979 ,DT9.9, Suzuki, Decal Spirit.also the head is silver in color.Runs and starts great but wont power up or push the 14 ft, sea nyphia fishing boat.Not missing or running rough, feels like I;m dragging a anchor.What should the compresson be?

If it is acting like a slipping clutch in a car, the hub has spun out in the prop. paint a line from the prom nut outward to the edge of the hub. Take the boat for a spin. If the paint line has moved out of alignment, the hub is spinning out.<br />The prop must be removed and re-hubbed.<br />Welcome to iboats.com

Go to the red search at the top of the page and try "compression" as a search arguement.

12Footer probably has it right. If it were compression it wouldn't start and run that well.
