no power under load

1988 150hp evinrude w/vro when i first got it it would only plane out when choked, cleaned all 3 carbs, found out only 3 cyc. firing, put new power pack on all 6 fireing now but under a load would not go, primer ball wont stay hard, acts like it is not gettin enough gas? what should i do next?

First welcome to iboats. Is the bulb going flat? Check the tank vent. Or just soft? Check the fuel lines, could be pulling air. And I'm sure other ideas are to follow,,,,,

thank you, i will keep an eye out for other suggestions, it runs like new at idle?

Will it pick up if you squeeze the primer bulb? If it does then you may have a weak fuel pump or missed something in a carb. The bulb will be kind of soft when running. If it gets sucked flat then make sure that your tank is vented. Don't know much at all about the 6 cylinders but these are basic points for all the outboards.
