I installed a new ignition switch and forgot to disconnect the battery. Anyway, all is hooked up but not getting any power back from the engine now. Ran a hot wire from battery to new switch and motor turns over just fine. Checked in dash fuses all were fine, curious if there are any fuses in the engine compartment. 110hp johnson 1984 outboardl.

Re: no power to starter key switch

im sorry i was eating supper in front of the comp when i read your thread and i misunderstood, i thought you meant when you turn the key there nothing and that you jumped the starter and it cranked fine.

the fuse i was reffering to comes from the switch to the starter, sorry.

if you cant find any fuses blown i would suggest that you run a voltage check again on the "b" terminal wire and maybe disconnect the bat and run some resistance checks on your wiring harness.

this may help

Re: no power to starter key switch

Hey, thanks for the help. I found a red inline fuse near the starter as you stated that was blown. It was behind some other wires so it wasn't obvious at first, and it looked just like some of the other wire connections that are under the hood. Everything is working fine now. Thanks again, James
