I have a '97 Evinrude E150PLEU FICHT with warranty changeout 2000 powerhead. My problem is the "No Oil" alarm. Engine runs great from 1700 to 4800 rpms but when i bring it down to around 1000 the "No Oil" alarm sounds. My authorized OMC dealer has changed the oil pump, sensor, tested presure, run software diagnistics, to no avail. I have heard that this has been a common problem with the late model FICHT engines. Does any have any suggestions that I can try or discuss with my dealer to try and correct this problem. I know it is using oil because i have done oil use test on the oil reservor. So I am at a loss on what to do next.

Re: No Oil Alarm

Did he replace or pressure test the oil pressure regulator?

What was the oil pump pressure and at what rpm was it tested?

Re: No Oil Alarm

I asked the dealers mechanic and he told me that the oil pressure tested to manu specs @ 1300 rpms, so he did not replace the oil regulator switch. I have asked him to retest it and provide me a pressure reading. Will post the pressure reading as soon as i can get it.
