We got a lot of rain on my side of the state recently. I had the cover on, but the plug was in, i had 2-3 inches of rain in the bottom of my 93' Sylvan Sea troller. now i have lost all most all electrical. I found that the console mounted depth finder was not properly grounded so now it will work aswell as my stereo. but, i still don't have any nav. lights, bilge, livewell, or horn. please help me????

Verify that you have current coming into the fuse panel. If not, look for a 20-30 amp fuse near the battery or battery switch. I could be bad. Check the ground also.

Have you checked the + and - to the fuse panel with a continuity tester. If not the fuses, it's corroded connectors, shorted wires, or bad battery. It's all physics, not psychics.:D

a lot of boats have a 50 amp main circuit breaker located somewhere near the engine block. if thats not it, get out your multimeter and let us know your voltage across your battery. 2-3 inches of water wouldn't do anythng to my electrical system. i think you may have some poor connections. start with the bilge pump and wire directly to your battery. if it runs, you know the connection is bad somewhere down the line. or your bilge pump motor is bad, or your battery is bad. good luck.

I can garantee that it is'nt the battery i just replaced it less than a week ago. there is some corossion on the connectors, but my circut tester lights up is it possible that there is just not enough juice??

Its going to be a matter of checking connections and switches. Start at the battery and verify they are clean and tight. Trace the cabling from there to any distribution points in the circuit. This could be a buss, breakers or fuses, fuse panel or any combination of connectors. Use your test light but be advised that the light in it only takes a fraction of an amp to turn on. Just because it comes on does not mean enough current is flowing. Do not pierce wires with the test light it causes problems down the road.
It only takes a small amount of corrosion to cause problems and loose connectors are the worst. Pull each fuse and replace it to check connector tension. Use your test light to see if you have power coming to and coming out of switches when they are on. Make sure everything is dry. Water can get into "marine" switches too. Go slow and test for power as you trace along. (assuming you already charged your battery)
