Hello. I am having trouble getting my boat to run. I have no spark or fuel present when cranking.
I have done the following:
Replace the distributor Module
Changed out the Oil pressure sensor
Changed the Oil Pressure switch
ECM fuses are good
switched out the ignition relay
Alarm comes on when key is switched on
Kill switch seems to be working (no alarm when switched off and key turned to run)
Slave soleniod turns the started motor on when jumped
Wire harness connection's look good with no corrosion or moisture
When the key is switched to run I do not have voltage to the ECM
There's a voltage drop at the input wires to the coil fr0m 12.5V to 10.8V
I can hear the fuel pump priming when the key is turned to run position
The engine and boat are 1998
OL049621 SIN
Any ideas would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Welcome
Thanks for the motor serial number
Slave soleniod turns the started motor on when jumped
So the motor only cranks when the slave is jumped, and not when key is turned to start?

When the key is switched to run I do not have voltage to the ECM
When key ON there is no power to the ECM fuse?

Turn key ON and see if you get 12V on each side of the fuel injectors

Motor cranks when the key is turned on as well. Just saying that I jumped it to test.

I have to re test power to the ecm fuse. I will test for power to the injectors. Thank you.

Ok. So. I have power to the ECM but do not have power to the injectors (with key in run position).

A few possibilities to consider looking over are,
1: The Alpha style shift interrupter switch is activated or failed... Could try moving the shifter handle a few times and then ensure the switch is centered and not pushed in, etc..

2: A fuse was overlooked as good when maybe it's not or not seated correctly, corrosion, wire pin connector pulled out, etc...

3: The Harness Assembly between Distributor Module to Ignition Coil merc part number 84 817376T01 / 84-817376T / item number 18 has failed internally.

4: The tachometer has failed internally or became grounded out.

5: More probable should you have this design distributor, the gm style pickup coil under the rotor has failed... Do you see the RPM gauge moving when cranking over the engine?

Check your wiring coming from the MPR (Main power relay) which is item 15 in pic. The pic shows a V8 but yours will be the same. The MPR also supply's power to the distributor

Thanks for your suggestions fun times.
1. Shift interrupter switch checked and is working properly.
2. Re checked fuses and connections. All look to be in good working order.
3. Need to test but I have power to the Distributor and Injectors.
4. Tach disconnected and tested.
5. Do not see any movement of RPMs on the tach when cranking. Will test the pick up on the distributor. I believe this might be the culprit. Thanks again.

I have replaced the distributor and the boat is running. Thank you for the help and information!
