You need to provide a little more information. Before you start the engine, does the primer bulb get firm when you squeeze it? If it does, then it's not a problem. Remember though, after the engine starts, the primer bulb does not remain firm. It shoud not however, be sucked flat. After starting, if the engine tends to die, squeeze the primer bulb. If that keeps the engine going, the fuel pump is very likely in need of replacement or rebuilding. Since we have no idea what engine you have and whether or not the engine runs, or what you've checked so far it's difficult to offer any other suggestions.
