Hey all. Been putting work into this 1997 2030 BRXL to get it ship shape. Running nice, new cover, new sound. I have a question about blowers. The 2030 does not have one installed. There is a switch on the dash that does nothing (standard template?). In the engine compartment there are four vent hoses that vent to the sides (2 starboard, 2 port) with just the bare ends of the vent lines in the compartment, attached to the aft wall (two high, two low). Engine is a 350 V8 Merc.
I asked a local mechanic about this and his answer was that this boat design does not require a blower. Couple that with the fact that the previous two owners never had issues, I would like to believe him.
But it nags at me. If I added a blower to one of the 4 vent tubes would I just be wasting my time? Would adding the blower in some way be detrimental?
