Was not a fan of that play by Crosby, Crosby was a little too violent in the slash at the stick. His intention was not to take out a finger, but it happened and yes, he should have been more careful and should have received some type of penalty ... suspension, fine, etc. Wilson, on the other hand, launched himself at the head of an opponent. He left his feet as he lunged for the head. This in an of itself is reason for the suspension, but then you take his play throughout the year and then the game before when he hit Brian Dumoulin in the in the back of the head with his cross check. Yes, Dumoulin was taking a defensive move in that game to prepare for the collision with Ovechkin, but the pattern of hits and the violent nature of the hits to the head. No offense, but the head and a finger are a bit different. So yes, I agree, and yes, I disagree at the same time! Does that make any sense? Although I have been accused in the past of being a "homer", I do try to look at things objectively. And I do think that the Crosby hit from last year and the Wilson hit of the other day are 2 entirely different types of hits. Both deserve penalties, but the penalties are not equal in my eyes.
