ROFL......theres seeing the glass half full !!!

An optimist says "that glass is half full".
A pessimist says "that glass is half empty".

A Leafs fan says "that glass is twice as big as it needs to be". :)

You Leaf fans can still see it from time to time. But you have to go to the Hall of Fame to see it.

it should be an interseting "half season", can the teams that are built around the wiley veterans keep up for the sprint? or will teams built around " young legs" be dominant????? guess we will know know by late august!! lol

It's no wonder Bell is losing customers.....firing BB at this time is the dumbest thing to do.
And then they give a title of Senior Consultant. How inconsiderate is that....just to keep him around so he can be shamed even more.

I'm still a fan, but I will not buy another Leaf ticket again and I hope others do the same.

c'mon eastont, ya know ya wont be able to resist buying a ticket if they make the playoffs ( thats if you would be lucky enough to find a ticket!) ...and i'll bet a shiny gold dollar that they do make it this year!!:thumb:

It kind of looks like ol' Brian wasn't getting along with members of the leafs ownership (MLSE)...and that usually spells disaster for the man in the crosshairs.
He was a pretty pushy guy, even when he was out in Vancouver...and not in a particularly good way.
I'll take a Sutter any day for a GM or a coach!!!;):D
....I think they should trade back Phaneuf back to Calgary (I like Calgary....:D)
My two bits.

Going to be tough to make any long lasting changes in a very short season like this upcoming season, but some wise old man once said you have to start somewhere...

A shortened season will opnly make the misery worse I would think...

Re: NHL....maple leafs fire Burke

Given that:
1) Dave Nonis took over as the new GM after Burke got fired in Vancouver.
2) Burke hired him in Anaheim.
3) Burke took him with him to Toronto.
4) Nonis replaced Burke in Toronto as GM (again)

Just a suggestion for Brian Burke.....maybe next time Dave Nonis calls you after being fired, don't pick up the phone.:D

i agree on the Phaneuf point, his gravy is his grit, which was taken away in toronto, wrong system for his style. maybe a fresh face there will make a difference? on another point, everyone wants Bettmans head, i understand it , but hes a smart guy in a buisiness sense, BUT, he should not be the spokesperson for the NHL!!! same as pee wee herman should not be a spokesperson for the UFC. jmo.
