Very impressed with the Vikings today. I haven't seen them look that good in a long time. They actually put a full game together against a good team. Congrats to them!

There's been some wild games today. I need to catch up on the 2nd games. My family(and me) just watched Red Tails. Not a bad movie. Some cheesy parts, but wasn't boring at all..........

Hopefully your teams did well..........

Oh boy did the NY Giants look good on Thursday. Hoping that team shows up again Sunday night.

Real Steeler fans only root for one team and hate the rest, especially the Iggles,Cowgirls and Ratbirds.

Well all I can say is the Bears defense is still something to reckon with. Culter not so much.

Naw, I am not the obnoxious Steeler fan ... But I am a real Steeler fan (not a fan of the teams you listed)! LOL!

Rodgers sacked 8 times in the 1st half. Seattle's D is sure teeing off on him... We'll see what the 2nd half brings...

Re: NFL - Week 3

Even people like us who are untrained at reffing could have made the proper call on that last play. They even reviewed it and came up with the same decision. That was the sad part. Thought for sure it was going to be reversed. Should actually help the regular refs get what they want just so the League can get them back on the field. The replacements are trying, but, they don't even know all the rulz. The NFL is way out of their capabilities..... It's got to suck for them to be out on the field each week knowing all the criticism they've been enduring........

They said later that a review could not change that type of call.

That's what the announcers were saying too, yet they reviewed it. It was very confusing. It never should have been reviewed in the first place. As mentioned, these guys don't even know the rulz.

Saw that with about 3 mins to go in the Viking game. SF called a time out, then thru the red flag wanting to review a fumble. It wasn't simultaneous "and" SF was then out of timeouts. You need a timeout to throw the flag. Not only did they review it and overturn the call, they also gave the timeout back to SF that they didn't have anyway. Thankfully, Mn intercepted the ball a play or two later....

Long as seats are full, ratings are up and hot dogs get sold....nothin will change. Time for us as fans to stand up and do our part. Stop going or watching or quit b*tching about it.

Actually, this ref thing has become entertaining. As long as it doesn't adversely affect your team....

Re: NFL - Week 3

All scoring plays are reviewed.

Understand. But what were they reviewing? Just that someone had the ball in the end zone since they couldn't over turn the initial call of the touchdown? Interesting that one ref called a TD and the other a touch back....

Rule 8, Section 1, Article 3, Item 5 of the NFL rulebook discusses a simultaneous catch.

"If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control," the rule states.

That strongly indicates Jennings should have been awarded an interception. Tate never seemed to truly gain joint control. A little known part of the rule explains why it wasn't overturned.

The rulebook also states when a simultaneous catch is ruled, you can't review who made the catch. You can only review if it was complete or incomplete.

I'll agree with the "root" part, but not the "hate" part. I can appreciate good football, no matter who plays it, yes even the Ravens. But I don't root for any other team, except whoever plays the Ravens. I don't actually hate all the Ravens, and I respect their organization, especially Ozzie Newsome.

I know you'll all the say the Steelers cheap shotted Darius Heyward-Bey, but did any of you actually see the play where Ziggy Hood was hurt? Willie Smith of the Raiders purposely "cripple blocked" him. He'll probably get away with it too, because DHB got hurt, so did another Raider (on a legal hit), and the debacle on Monday night. However, he should have the biggest fine ever, leveied at him.
