I disagree. There should be a reward for winning the most games.

If winning the division means nothing than what's the point of having divisions??

On the flip side if you are in a tough division and you have a better record than a division winner from an easier division haven't you earned a higher seed than them??

Bottom line is that this is football and life isn't fair. If you want to controll your own destiny you have to win your division!!

Winning the division DOES mean something - it gets you into the playoffs even at 7 and 9. Nobody is arguing that.

The issue is whether an 11-5 or 10-6 team should travel there for a first-round game.

I think that seeding teams for home games versus travel dates based on win totals would probably spice up some of the end-of-season games.

There is a reward. New Orleans has one of the best records among the NON DIVISION winners. Therefore they get to travel to Seattle to play in one of the wildcard games. They did get their reward. As did the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravins. They were all rewarded with a chance to make it to the Superbowl. Wildcard teams cannot host a game. That is the way it is and IMO it should not change. You win your division you get to host a wildcard game.

I am in agreement. That is the reason for having divisions. You win your division you either get a bye or you host a wildcard game. I see no need to change.

This thread is OFF TOPIC! :D :p

You win your division, you host a game ... problem.

Steelers controlled their destiny and won their division by a tie breaker so they get a bye and Baltimore gets a wild card game. Hopefully the Steelers will get more rested and a little healthier ... then look out Pats, we will be gunning for you in the Championship game!

Exactly my point. You've got the right idea, for sure.
