Hooty, Ross here mate, from down under.
What do you think about making a lure from that old bone of your'n? I reckon it'd make a great spoon, my wife says it'd be better as a Kahawai lure but I thought it'd go too dark over time for that.
You'd be the only buggar on the block to have one!
What do you reckon eh?
Get well quick mate 'cause that winter of yours can't last forever and the spring thaw will see mor'n a few lambs jumping about your paddocks I think.
Oh, from one of the nurses at our hospital (she's 65) she had her hip done at age 60 and when I asked about the lack of sex she just grinned and commented that they'd never had it so good. Her comment of, "There's many different ways of doing it......" Still sticks in my mind. Just don't break your leg!!
Ross

So did you get a doggie bag to take that soup bone back home?

As Jeffery Dahlmer would ask. "You gonna eat all that?"

Hey Ebb, yeah they got lots of different styles , diameters, materials and, lenghts. Its up to the surgeon and the manufactures rep. to decide which is the best for the patient. Sorry for the late delay but I had to hit the hay last night for an early start today. You cann't believe all the different components on the market for replacement joints...knees, shoulders, hips, etc. Each one is for a specific application and the rep. goes right into surgery with us toten his wares(all sterile). Gotta be ready for anything cause once you'er in theres no turning back.

Hooty, those are some good pictures. You will be glad to have it done. My Dad came out of surgery hurting less than when he went in. It looks like the head of the femur was ebernating in the hip socket. When the bone rubs against bone that hurts. You must have been in a lot of pain.
Take care of it and do what the doctor said and you will have that hip for a good long time. My Dad doesn't fish or boat so I don't know what the doctor told you about getting into the boat and fishing. Probably after the two months. Good luck with the hip.

Dmessey, those terms sure take me back to my physical anthropology days. I have seen some unbelievable specimens including one where the head of the femur came out of the socket and it ground a whole new socket in their inominate. I don't mean a little one either. I don't know how the person stood the pain.

Hey ya'll,
I want to thank everybody for their good thoughts and well wishes, ("yach" "prey on your hips behalf" "zerk fittings" "initial stage of being the Terminator" "red tagged at Delta" "can we talk about something else now" "Yachah OUCHCHEWOWWA!" make a spoon or a Kawahai lure out of the old bone, "doggie bag for the soup bone" or "you gonna eat all that?".

Truly guys, I do appreciate the thoughts.

c/6

Hooty
