i just traded an old jeep i had for a 1985 imperial with a mercruiser 120hp i/o. now i hooked the hose up to it today and started for the first time and i had the cover off the engine and as soon as i started it water was pouring out of the right side of the motor. looked like right where the manifold attaches to the block was where it was coming from. couldnt see any visible crack on the block and theres no water in the oil. my question is do the gaskets on the manifolds go bad like that. is there a chance it could just be a gasket or am i looking at a cracked block? i dont have any experience with these motors so im not sure if its something that happens on these. im so hoping its not a crack. so please any info anyone can give me please let me know it will be greatly appreciated. im gonna tear into it tomorrow and see what it looks like once i get the manifold off. i was gonna check the tsat cause i figured that maybe if its all gummed up it could have built pressure and blown the gasket out. so thanks in advance for any help.
thanks
