For starters I am new to the boating world. This is a 350 and today the belt came off. I checked for any seized ones and everything spun nicely except the one circled in red. It will spin but is stiff, should it be? What does it drive? Or is that the pulley that seized up which caused the belt to jump. Thank you everyone sorry for the basic question but I searched and couldn’t find my answer.

That looks like the water pump on a bravo drive. Should be some resistance but hard to tell from the keyboard how much is too much …

Put a new belt on and tension it see how it runs

Ya I’m going to Tuesday. Just trying to isolate why the belt came off. I was only at 2000rpm just cruising when it tore off.

are the rest of pulleys free turning? Make sure! Was belt complete of torn into or just slipped off? You may have a weak idler pully tensioner? Looks like circled one is water intake pump. It should have some resistance.

Rest of the pulleys are free. It peels 1 rib off the belt and when I opened the hatch it was off. It is possible it was just loose. I didn’t inspect it I paid a mechanic shop to inspect it and they said it was all good. I’m going to get a belt Tuesday and put the muffs on and run it and see. the rec circled pulley moves but it’s stiffer like a power steering pump. So maybe the belt was just loose and finally jumped. It ran perfect the day before. Just my luck!

peeling one rib tells me there is an alignment issue. Look at all the pulleys
from the side and see if they are lined up with each other, it's easier to see with the belt on. You can take a straightedge and check them also.

Might be an illusion but think the water pump pulley is set to far in, needs to come out some.

Use a straight edge and place on the circulating pump above the crank or the crank pulley to see

The tensioner is not self adjusting so may have been loose if belt stretched

check alignment.

as Scott indicated, the tensioner needs adjustment every so often and to be checked (like oil, etc.) prior to every usage.

Hi. Looking at your picture there..I’d say your power steering pump is sitting a little in the slack position. That full cap is usually vertical and square. Check that hasn’t came loose or slack
