Hi folks, wow it looks like there are some really experienced people here.
I have just got my first Johnson engine, I think it is quite old, it was made in Belguim, the model is J20BFLCTE, if that means anything?
Anyways.. It has a connector on the side, there are three wires that go to it - yellow, yellow/blue and what looks like yellow / silver. Can anybody tell me what they are for?
Also the prop is a 9 1/4X11 - is this the right one? It looks badly bashed about so I think I will look for a replacement but want to make sure I get the right size.
Lastly, it runs really well but sounds a bit noisy around the crank area. If I grasp the starter ring I can feel a very small amount of movement - is this normal or are my bearings shot? The big ends feel ok and sound ok but I suspect the mains might be a bit less than perfect.
Thanks in advance for any information.
Thorcus.
