Newbie considering buying 1992 Tracker Magna w/o outboard

I found a pretty nice 1992 Tracker Magna with a 1993 matching trailer. Great price for both but outboard doesn't work. SO my thought was buying an used Yamaha 60 HP 4 stroke and install. The Yamaha costs more than the boat and trailer with low hours.
What do I need to do to pull and replace outboard, steering and instrument panels. I looking forward for any information as this is a first on many notes. Thank you in advance!

Disconnect all of the cables and steering at the old motor. Disconnect the bolts and hoist the motor off the transom.

Get a template for the new motor. If the old holes line up, simply mount the new motor. If not, seal the old holes and drill new ones.

Pull the fuel line, electric line. etc., one at a time out from the helm. Tie a rope to each so you can pull the new cables back in.

If the steering connection isn't compatible, contact the manufacturer and see if the engine end can be retrofitted. If not, replace the entire steering cable the same way the wires were replaced.

Hook everything back up to the new motor.

remember, the old 2-stroke that was on the boat will be much lighter than the motor you are thinking of.

also, the transoms tended to rot on the Bass Trackers. check that well before your purchase. that is not an easy thing to replace in the boat as you must have welding and fabrication skills
