NewBee Mercruiser Question

Hello to all! Tony sent me to this forum. I'm new to the boating world and wanted to get off the fishing pier and try off shore fishing. I just bought an older '82 Grady White, 241 Weekender, 305 I/O and have my first question. How do I tell what model outdrive I have? There are not tags or decals on it to tell me. Inside the engine compartment, all it indicates is Mercruiser Outdrive and a serial number. I have a Clymer's Maintenance manual and it has'nt been very helpful in identifying the model. I want to order a new lower water pump kit and can't decide which one to order. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ron

Ron,

Welcome to iBoats...

If the year of the boat is the year of the engine and drive, then you have an MC-1 drive... The water pump impeller is 47-89984T4.

P.S. Trash the cylmer and get the Merc genuine manual...
