I replaced the transom in a 42' Baja 420ES... After cutting the outdrive holes I noticed a rather large 1/8" gap up to 1/4" in one of the ply wood layers where the wood did not bond in that spot.. Looks as if somthing may have been between the boards preventing it from bonding flat. I appled screws into each layer as I laid em up.. I'm super disheartened... How do I correct this.. Vacuum bag and pull resin up through the entire gap?? What other options do I have?? I can see light from the port outdrive hole while looking in the stbd outdrive hole... PLEASE HELP! Any helpful Suggestions would definately be appreciated! Thanks.. Boa Cox

Might be better if you could post some pictures from several different angles. I'm sure you're not the 1st person this has happened to. Someone will be along to offer helpful advice soon, I'm sure.

Marine plywood is "virtually" void free, and you found one of the few voids in it. I found the same thing with doug fir marine ply I bought, a few voids. I was displeased when I blew through it while screwing down my deck....

If you are worried about it, get a hypodermic syringe, a large bore needle, some epoxy. and fill in the void. Farm and feed stores will have the syringes and needles.
