New to me Force 120 ('92 I believe) and of course I have trim/tilt issues.

I picked up a 1984 Sun Tracker Party Barge this week from a dealer near Green Bay. On it is a Force 120. The dealer quoted the Force as being a '98 but the model number is 1201A92C which suggests to me that it is actually a 1992 model. One of the experts here please correct me if I am wrong.

I have done a compression test on the motor and it has 137, 145, 145, 137 which seems to be fairly decent given the motor hasn't run in a few years. I have dripped some 40:1 pre-mixed fuel in the carb and turned it over (with water muffs on) and got the motor to fire over nicely. I believe with a good cleanup of the carbs and fuel pump and a fresh water pump impellor (to be safe), the motor should do me for the next few years on my pontoon.

Now for the problem. There are some parts missing on the trim/tilt system. Either there was a problem and somebody took it apart and pieces went missing or, while the boat was sitting in the junkyard I rescued it from, someone decided they needed the pieces. Anyway, the mounting plate and adapter manifold block are not there (pump motor and body are there but are only attached to the motor by the wiring). See #14 on the first attached parts diagram and #3 on the second for the missing pieces.

I have found the mounting plate on listed eBay but the price is pretty steep for what it is. Unfortunately, the part number for the missing adapter block (854307A1) do not come up on eBay. Supposedly the manifold is part of the entire pump assembly (853515A3) or at least that is the way it appears on the Crowley website that I got picture 3 from. I am pretty sure my pump is good so I don't really need the entire assembly. I did have a pump issue but with a "poor man's rebuild" it appears to be pumping hydraulic fluid out both outlet ports when power is applied appropriately.

A few questions for the Force experts here:

1. Does my research look correct? I have not found specifically where the trim system 853515A3 was used on a '92 Force 120 but that appears to be the trim system I have on my motor (see picture 2 below).

2. Is there a reasonably priced way to get the needed parts to get my trim system functional? I need the mounting plate and the adapter block and some miscellaneous O-rings.

3. If the parts are not available, is there a different pump/valve system that can be retrofitted to the trim/tilt system on my motor?

4. Ideally I want the trim system to be fixed correctly but is it possible to run the motor without the electric trim/lift?

Given the initial indications, I think I have a solid motor that should push my 24' pontoon across the lake quite nicely if I can get the trim system sorted out.

Thank you for any guidance you can give.

Yup 92
The motors compression is right on. They designed it with the top and bottom cyl. to be lower than the 2 center holes.

The T@T you could have one of 4 different systems???
Post a pic of the unit you have. That pic can help a LOT!!
The link below is the equipment that could have come with your motor.
Open it up and there are 4 pumps listed.
The 92 came with the first one and then as the year went on they switched to the Mercury style pump and attached it to the T@T system from the older style. Then in 94-95 they switched to Mercury everything but the block.
Any boat business or yard will sell you stuff but they know what it's worth and charge accordingly :(
In some cases you can find a complete motor and use it for parts.
I bought a complete running motor for 125$ Look around.
Post the pic????

Sent you a PM.
It's possible someone took the #1 style off and replaced it with the motor/pump you have now??

Jerry,
Thank you very much for the reply. I am not sure how it came about but I definitely have a different style of trim than the ones listed as being for the 1992 model.

I think, however, I have had some luck. I did another search yesterday on eBay and found a complete Tilt/Trim setup for about $280 that is supposedly from a 1990 Force. The setup has the two components I am missing plus the pump, lines, actuators, and shock. I figure, between the two sets of trim components, I should be able to get a functional setup.

It was $350 Canadian plus $40.00 shipping. I am in Canada so I figured that would work well. Using a rough conversion, exchange works out to about $280-$300 US depending on the actual rate that day.
