New to me 1970

Got some work done yesterday, took leave to get more organized and prepare for the upcoming weekend to maximize time spent.
Pulled all wiring (nav lights, led lights around inner frame, 2 cigarette outlets, and bilge). What a rats nest. Wire ties belong in houses, not boats. Also sprayed bed liner in the side wells and up front.

Hoping to get all wiring done and hit the water Sunday (hear the walleye have arrived)

Appreciate that! Yes it’s nice to know I could take it if I really wanted. It’s moving along. Hope to have dashes built and installed tomorrow (after a 10k I forgot I’d told the wife I’d run with her). Then it’s onto some wiring and connect the steering - should be on the water in a week. Use it while continuing to prep for paint

Got trolling motor wired up today just before the rain. Dashes are also cut and waiting for another poly coat.

Is this the same boat?
One of the pics you posted clearly shows the rating plate,
even with the poor angle, I can clearly see Super Sport as the model, and what appears to be a SN.

I looked close at it and compared it to others I have,
The plate has been off, ie, not factory installed, and that style was used in '71 and '72.
I can't make out the digits after "Super Sport" and another I have of that vintage is stamped "-V O/B", which doesn't look like yours. Not sure what's where the S/N should be.

Weird enough, the only thing where it "should be" is a poorly etched number.

Yes, it is the same boat…. I did end up seeing this data plate later. Still not sure on exact year of the boat SN is 1024483

All this is really just for fun, as the hull and boats don't change much through the years, it really comes down to current condition.
The one improvement (IMO) is the safety glass windshield, which yours has. (Our '70 has the older plastic windshield and it's definitely a step down.)

You will have a great boat once you are done.

Will do! Made it out yesterday, but have yet to install the Garmin. Weather and work has me limited on time. Got the dashes finished and installed. It was snowing, but managed to get the first (of many) fish in my “new” boat
