I just made my first boat/motor/trailer purchase. i am still researching exactly what i have and wanted to see if someone can help me find out some initial information on the outboard. It is an Evinrude Big Twin. i found the serial number which is 25924-10368. I want to get a repair manual so if anyone can help me with year/HP/model etc. i would really appreciate it.

Lots of other restoration to be done, but figured motor was a good place to start.

Thanks for your help!

where is the best place to get a service/repair manual?

There is guy mentioned here who sells the manuals for OMC motors don't know how far back they go..but worth a shot when some on posts the address to his site...i don't have it.....

Also you may try Ebay....never know you nay get lucky and find one there....here is just a parts manual....they are nce give nice blow ups of the motor and parts...

make sure you get a OMC book and no other...Ken Cook is the guy mentioned here alot who sells repair manuals....

Here is a parts breakdown diagram for your motor.

http://www.marineengine.com/parts/v...evinrude-johnson/ITEM_2750/ITEM_275000001.htm

Iboats sells ignition parts, carburetor kits, and impellers for your motor...I believe. If they don't have it here on the site, then give them a call at the 1 800 number provided. If the parts is not supplied, then the link I supplied above would most probably have it.

Ken Cook is suppose to be the authorized reseller and producer of factory service manual, parts manuals and owners manual for Evinrude, Johnson, and OMC motors for pre 1980 or 1990 are there about. I supplied a parts manual diagram with the above link so all you need is the service factory manual. You can certainly look on Ebay and might find a specific service manual for your make and year motor. Here is a link for a certified factory manual for your make and year motor (double check please) provided by Ken Cook through Iboats.

Best of luck to you!!! Hope you restore her back to glory and hope you certainly have fun along the way!!

The Ken Cook manual is a factory duplicate, the best bargan for the money. Get it if he has it, or try ebay, sometimes you can get a good deal on a factory manual.

Re: new to Evinrude

Thanks everyone for the help! The parts book is very helpful. i will try to post some pics this week.

Does anyone know about original paint colors? Are they available or do i have to get custom?

Also, i have tried to look up info about the boat. it is a 14' sea star tri-hull. i can't find much out there. is there a way to find it using the ID number?

Thanks again!
